What is car detailing?

Car detailing is a thorough and comprehensive cleaning and restoration process for both the interior and exterior of a vehicle. The goal of car detailing is to enhance and preserve a vehicle's appearance, protect its surfaces, and improve overall cleanliness. Unlike a standard car wash, which primarily focuses on removing surface dirt, detailing involves more intricate and meticulous cleaning, often including restoration and protection processes.

 

How often should I get my car detailed?

There are different levels of car detailing, some are needed much more reguarly, where as some are needed less frequent. For example, we offer a maintenance package where customers have their vehicles deep cleaned inside and out on a weekly/monthly basis; this helps keep on top of any dirt build up. We also offer a protection package where we strip back any protection, treat the cars paint and seal this in with a long term wax or sealant - this may only need to be done approx 1-2 times a year. 

 

What's the difference between car detailing and a wash from my local car wash?

Whilst both car detailing and your local car wash removes dirt and grime, there is a clear difference in attention to detail.

Local car washes often use acidic, non pH neutral products, that can scratch paint due to their high pressure guns, offer little or no paint protection and want to get the job done as quick as possible.

Whereas here at North East Auto Detailing we use pH neutral products as often as possible, use the correct water pressure to ensure a safe wash, use trusted methods such as the two bucket method for our contact washes, offer paint enhancement and protection and we take the time we need to achieve a high level cleanliness and finish.

 

How long does a car detailing service take?

What products do you use, and are they safe for my vehicle?

We use a wide variety of products depending on what package you go for. All of our pre wash solutions and shampoo's are pH netural to help protect the vehicles paint. 

We may need to use harsher products to remove any tough grime or stains on your cars exterior or interior, this can include things such as an iron fallout remover for wheels and tar remover for stubborn tar/glue spots. In these instances we are very careful when applying these sorts of products. 

We reguarly research best practices for car detailing such as the safest products to use, using a two bucket method for contact washes and using car dryers instead of towels where possible. We also often go on refresher courses to keep up with safe practices.

 

What mobile detialing services do you offer?

Currently we offer mobile detailing services to people's homes. An accessible power socket is needed to connect our power extension reel so we can run certain equipment, such as our pressure washers.

Can you remove (specific stains or issues) from my car?

We do have equipment such as upholstery/carpet cleaners to remove any interior stains. We also have machine polishers where we can remove any minor scratches.

Do you offer any discounts or packages?

Our packages are very competitively priced and we may have offers from time to time. Offers will be displayed on the homepage of our website and also our social media pages.

Can I stay with my car during the detailing process?

Due to the nature of the job we do not recommend for you to stay with your vehicle during the detailing process. This is so we can concentrate on the job without any distractions and also to make sure customers are not near any products which may not be pH neutral.

 

What if I'm not satisfied with the detailing services?

At the end of the detailing process we will ask yourself to take a look at the job we have done, if you feel like we have missed something then please let us know and we will try and rectify this there and then.

If it cannot be rectified then you can speak to use directly via the phone number or email address we have provided on our invoice and/or business card.

 

How can I maintain the results of the detailing services?

To maintain the results of our detailing services, we recommend the following:

• Take advantage of our maintenace package, with this you get a regular detail at a discounted price. This means your car will receive a regular detail, keeping it in excellent condition.
• You can wash your car yourself inbetween maintenance washes or other packages. This will remove any surface dirt or contaminants. Please pre wash your car before any contact wash, use pH neutral products throughout the process and a soft wash mitt.
• Avoid automatic car washes or cheap local car washes, they use abrasive brushes, very powerful pressure washers and acidic detergents. This will remove any protection we have applied to your vehicle and also may scratch and damage your cars paintwork.
• Keep on top of your interior by vaccuming any dirt and debris as often as possible. You can wipe down surfaces with a damp microfibre cloth. A good bit of advice is to not eat in your car!
